It probably doesn’t shock you to know that two-thirds of the world’s Internet population visit social networking or blogging sites, which accounts for almost 10% of all internet time. By now almost everyone web savvy is either using Facebook or at least talking about it, and with more than 500 millionactive users it is the most popular social networking tool online.
Due to its enormous following, businesses have begun to integrate Facebook into their emailing campaigns. This is because you can include tools in your emails that allow your readers to help share your content on multiple platforms. Integrating Facebook into your email campaigns has the potential to lead to more subscribers and allow your growing audience to interact and make comments on your content or message.
Last month E-mail marketing service providers MailChimp introduced a feature that allows Facebook “like” buttons to be easily created in e-mail campaigns. The button looks and works similar to way “like” buttons do on the web. So, when a subscriber clicks the “like” button in an e-mail, the campaign is then posted on their Facebook profile so their friends can read the campaign and leave comments. The number of people who click on the “like” button is tracked by MailChimp and made accessible in the campaign stats section.
I believe if this new feature proves popular among MailChimp users I expect to see other email marking software introduce this feature thus further increasing the potential to massively boost user engagement within online marking campaigns.
