We have just launched the new Beating Bowel Cancer website. The objective for this website is to provide support for people affected by bowel cancer and also to promote their fundraising activities.
The site is built in Drupal 6 and has some great functionality including a Patient Forum where users are free to discuss anything they wish to raise. This is a great way of building a community around the website and allowing patients to connect with others suffering from bowel cancer and also to gain support from others who understand what they are going through.
Other functionality includes an e-commerce system that includes signing up to events and paying the registration fee through the site. You can also donate online which is vital for a charity website.
The Drupal CMS allows the client to update the site themselves and they have control over the widgets too so they can arrange the pages however they like. There is also a news section and integrated YouTube channel so there is plenty of media on the website to meet the needs of the different users who may be visiting the website.
This was a great project for us to work on and we really enjoying working with charities so we can help them reach those who need support. We hope to continue developing the website with Beating Bowel Cancer to continuously evolve the website as a hub of information and support.
