For the last few years we have designed the World Book Day website and have now launched the official 2011 website.
World Book Day is the largest annual celebration of books and reading across the UK and Ireland and is a partnership of publishers, booksellers and interested parties who have come together to promote books and reading for personal enrichment and pleasure.
One of the main aims of World Book Day within the UK and Ireland, is to encourage children to discover the advantages and pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the chance to have their own book. A Schools’ pack of ideas and activities, display material and relevant information relating to the event are sent out to primary schools and any secondary schools that have registered to participate.
This year we have decided to make some changes to the website and have incorporated 5 designs into the website. There is a scrolling bar on the left hand side with options to click on World Book Day for Adults, World Book Day for Young People, World Book Day for Kids, Online Portal and Let me tell you a story. Each of these categories has a different design so the website can cater for the diverse user groups that use this website.
World Book Day 2011 will take place in the UK and Ireland on Thursday 3rd March and is sponsored by National Book Tokens.
