Horrid Henry
Horrid Henry is a series of books for children written by bestselling children’s author Francesca Simon. Horrid Henry has sold over 12 million copies worldwide and is published in 24 countries. It has also been produced as an animated TV series for CITV.
Orion Publishing asked us to redesign the UK Horrid Henry site and make it more fun and interactive for children. They also wanted to include more information about the Horrid Henry Books.
It was great privilege to work on the Horrid Henry site as we also designed and developed a website for the bestselling Horrid Henry author Francesca Simon.
What We Did
We built the site using our custom Content Management System that allows the client to update the site whenever they choose to do so from any computer with internet access.
We designed the site to reflect the Horrid Henry books using bold, strong colours to appeal to children and also included some fun animation. We used illustrations from the book throughout the site for a more effective look and to represent the Horrid Henry brand.
The site has some great activities for children and interactive features including quizzes, sounds, e-cards and a send a joke section.
The mischievous Horrid Henry is used for learning in schools so there is even a section for teachers with resources to make learning fun for children.
The Result
Orion Publishing is very happy with the site and we have an ongoing involvement in the development of the site.
The site is child friendly and promotes the Horrid Henry brand and products. The interactive features are great for children and very popular. The site has a growing membership of over 8,000 members and since the launch of the site in September 2009 Henry has had an impressive 145,000 visitors
