Ricability is the Research Institute for Consumer Affairs, founded by Which? more than 40 years ago. They are a national research charity dedicated to providing strictly independent consumer research and information.
We redesigned the existing Ricability website to improve the layout of information making the site more user friendly with a fresh and modern design. The website provides information about digital TV equipment allowing users to view test results and ratings for products, information about the digital switchover and how to get the most out of your equipment. The website needed to be search engine friendly making sure the important content was accessible to consumers. The site also had to meet the AAA accessibility standard which allows visitors to modify the font size on the site to suit their visual needs.
What We Did
We provided them with a site that presents all the relevant information and meets the accessibility standard. The new site includes a drop down menu to make it easier for users to find information. If users want to search for something in particular there is a site search built into the site making information easily accessible.
We also developed a system that allows Ricability to update large amounts of product data on the site, quickly and easily. There is plenty of useful information across the site so we have improved the layout of information.
The Result
Ricability was pleased with the end result and we have continued to support the site with them over time. We also provide Ricability with relevant statistics analysis at regular intervals so they can monitor the success of their site and look for potential improvements.
We have also helped Ricability distribute some online PR drawing traffic to the site and providing information about products and services.
The site meets the desired accessibility standards and our SEO work has helped them to get to the top of the search engine rankings. The traffic levels have been great for the site since we launched the previous site in 2007 and they have racked up close to 500,000 visitors.
