Veolio ELGA LabWater
Scientists around the world require purified water in their research and lab work on a continual basis. Contaminants and variabilities in water purity can jeopardise results, which is why ELGA LabWater have been servicing this critical global research community with ultrapure water since 1937. Their ultrapure water services, equipment and products are used in a diverse range of important scientific research including experiments to understand environmental variability in Antarctica, develop genetic medicines, and maximise quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s disease to name a few. We’ve worked with Veolia ELGA Labwater since 2017, providing ongoing technical support, maintenance, design and bespoke development services for their multi-lingual multi-national Drupal site.
The client’s primary objectives included:
- Mutli-lingual content management
Sourcing an industry leading translation service and implementing a seamless integration between the client’s Drupal site and the 3rd party’s translation system to enable page content translations to be handled through the client’s Drupal admin interface - Technical Search Engine optimisation
Working in partnership with the clients third party Search Engine Marketing provider to implement technical improvements to enhance the sites organic rankings - Advanced template management tooling
Installing, configuring and enhancing Drupal based page builder functionality to allow the client to create a wide range of page layouts - Salesforce integration
A seamless two way integration with their bespoke Salesforce setup, optimising their sales funnel and ensuring their sales team can be reactive in real-time to incoming leads data
Ongoing Drupal maintenance, support and development
We began by conducting a comprehensive technical audit to identify issues and opportunities for improvement across ELGA LabWater’s digital operations. We then implemented a range of solutions to enhance their Drupal website, including optimising CMS and server caching to improve page speed, migrating to a more robust hosting infrastructure on AWS , streamlining key pages for better user experience and conversion, and integrating Salesforce with the Drupal setup.
To safeguard the site, we introduced a risk management approach with regular server health checks and backups. We also addressed technical SEO issues and optimised the code to boost search engine rankings.
Previously, ELGA managed several standalone websites in different languages. To reduce costs and improve efficiency, we began migrating these into a centralised multilingual Drupal CMS setup. We also improved the translation process by integrating a module that lets their translation supplier upload content directly for approval, removing the need for manual uploads.
Throughout the partnership, we’ve supported ELGA’s wider business and marketing goals by identifying opportunities to increase sales and improve internal processes. A dedicated project manager ensured clear communication and regular progress updates.
Project achievements
During the first six months of working with ELGA LabWater the site saw impressive results, with a 67% increase in web traffic and a 46% increase in conversions. This was attributed to the enhancements in site and server performance, the improved visual layout and User Experience, and the optimised workflow for the client’s sales staff, allowing them to be much more responsive to the increasing number of incoming enquiries.
We continue to work collaboratively with ELGA LabWater, providing ongoing Drupal maintenance, website support and digital strategy services tailored to meet the company’s needs. We have regular delivery and strategy focused catch-ups to check in on the company’s digital presence and discuss options for further improvement and development.
