Lumos Foundation
Lumos Foundation is an international children’s charity founded by the Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, working to end the institutionalisation of children worldwide, to ensure every child grows up in a safe and caring family environment. Lumos approached Pedalo to design and build a new digital platform that would engage global audiences, support online donations in multiple currencies, and integrate seamlessly with the charity’s CRM systems.
We delivered a complete end-to-end solution, from UX and UI design through to technical delivery and ongoing support. The new site, built on WordPress using our custom theme and page builder, provides Lumos with a flexible, intuitive content management system and a fully optimised donation experience tailored for international users.
The client’s primary objectives included:

Charity focussed WordPress redesign and rebuild, with donation funnel and CRM integration
We began with a full discovery phase to understand Lumos Foundation’s mission, audiences, and global needs. Workshops and stakeholder interviews helped define user journeys focused on making it easy for visitors to learn about Lumos’ work and take action. Accessibility, clarity, and trust guided the design to engage a wide international audience and reflect the charity’s values.
Our UX and UI team created wireframes and designs combining clear storytelling with strong calls to action, while refining Lumos’ digital branding for a cohesive, modern look across all channels.
The website was built using our custom WordPress theme and page builder, giving Lumos full flexibility to manage content. We also developed a bespoke donation funnel that detects user location and adjusts currency, payment options, and fund allocation automatically, integrating with multiple Salesforce CRM instances to ensure secure, compliant data transfer.
The project was delivered end to end, from design and testing to deployment and training. The site now runs on managed VPS hosting with continuous monitoring, maintenance, and responsive support as Lumos’ digital requirements evolve.
