Dr Gunther von Hagens’ renowned Body Worlds exhibition of real human bodies has sparked curiosity and awe in more than 49 million visitors globally. Its permanent flagship museum in London’s Piccadilly Circus enables people to journey through the human body and discover the magic and mysteries beneath the skin. Body Worlds was recently awarded the TripAdvisor 2019 Travellers’ Choice Award, and visitors describe the experience as ‘emotional’, ‘extraordinary’ and even ‘life-changing’.

We partnered with Body Worlds in 2018 to provide website support and maintenance, fix bugs and security issues, and make improvements to the web design and site features. Their previous digital agency had not been able to provide the rapid support needed, so they wanted a more reliable and responsive agency.

We began by performing a website audit/health-check to gain an overview of site performance and uncover key areas for improvement. We then implemented various solutions to improve the Drupal website, including applying security patches, updating software and fixing bugs.

We also added a visual builder feature to the Body Worlds site, meaning that staff are now able to design custom web pages and layouts themselves, without needing to engage a web design agency each time. This gives the company more flexibility and freedom to create unique project pages as needed, as well as reducing costs.

We’ve ensured Body Worlds has reliable and responsive Drupal website maintenance and support by responding to their enquiries and requests rapidly, and providing a single point of contact who regularly gives updates on progress. This has helped reduce the company’s administrative workload, meaning they have more time to focus on promoting and selling tickets for their innovative exhibition.
