The Fostering Network

The Fostering Network

action – initial

We collaborated closely with the charity to explore and clarify its needs, and then created a new Drupal website design which allows for maximum personalisation and member engagement. We created a compelling and personalised user journey, in which content is surfaced based on a user’s profile and past browsing history, enabling users to find an endless stream of interesting and relevant information.

The site has differential data display options based on user types (such as logged-in member / non-member) and presents personalised data according to each users’ preferences and previous site usage. Like Google and Amazon, the website is able to ‘learn’ a user’s preferences and therefore display the most relevant content, with increasing accuracy over time.

The Fostering Network also publishes a prestigious printed magazine and we were keen to give it an innovative digital makeover to maximise member engagement. We replaced the charity’s previous PDF download version with a customised, glossy, online version, where users can digitally flip through pages in the same way they would a normal magazine. The full publication is open only to members, but site visitors can view snippets.

action – 2021

With both the website’s Drupal 7 design and integrated CRM database needing to be changed, we worked with the charity on another large development project – rebuilding the website in Drupal 8 and shifting the CRM to MS Dynamics.

Since our original web build, the charity’s in-house team had added several extra features to the website, making it even larger and more complex than before. We began by scoping out these additional site elements and making a robust plan to ensure all of The Fostering Network’s content, data and functionality would be migrated to the new site.

Within extremely tight deadlines, we were able to recreate the site in Drupal 8 and port all of the website data, including personalisation. We also liaised with the third-party CRM provider to ensure that updated database details – including member subscriptions, foster carer details, fostering agency records and other vital information – integrated seamlessly with the new site.

Clinical Skills

Clinical Skills

action

We began with a thorough review of Clinical Skills’ existing systems and processes, finding that they were hampering progress and did not meet with the company’s wider needs and goals. Our team of Drupal web developers designed and built a new technical framework and website, ensuring core functionality and data assets were retained, whilst also enabling greater future adaptability, enhanced interoperability, and higher-quality and more visually-appealing user interfaces.

The new system has enabled Clinical Skills both to build stronger, longer-lasting relationships with users and to provide additional services, therefore allowing them to retain clients, reach new markets and boost income. We collaborated with Clinical Skills and communicated clearly throughout the process by providing a single point of contact and regularly discussing technological options and ensuring a close fit with the company’s strategic priorities.

Whilst the idea of digitising member processes and integrating CIPR’s website with SagePay and Integra (database) seemed simple, there were several additional requirements which made the technical work more challenging. CIPR needed a workflow that allowed for manual approval of member submissions and a step for cleansing before data was transferred to its database.

Using our expertise in membership website design and systems integration, we created a seamless registration experience for new members in which they’re able to join CIPR and pay the relevant membership fee entirely online. The new member’s application is then held by the website in a pending state, where it can be viewed and amended by the internal membership team. Once it has been updated and approved by staff, data is submitted to the back-office membership system, at which point an automatic confirmation email is also sent to the member.

The new integrated Drupal website design and functionality has not only enabled members to sign-up for and renew membership digitally at their convenience, but also dramatically reduced administrative processes and increased internal efficiency.

Anti-Slavery International

Anti-Slavery International

action

We enjoyed a brilliant and collaborative partnership with Anti-Slavery International throughout the process, which began with a full user experience cycle. We researched the charity’s audience and delved into organisational strategy in order to work out what should and shouldn’t be on the site. We then proceeded to create an optimised information architecture aimed at engaging target users, with content that could be updated regularly and easily within staff time constraints.

Using our expertise in charity web design, our WordPress developers created a new website that is bold, fully responsive, and has a clear navigation structure. This enables Anti-Slavery International to showcase its work in an engaging way and make excellent use of its impressive imagery and content. It is also able to fundraise more effectively online, with the site’s fundraising section divided to allow different donor groups to access the most relevant information and take action.

The template system we created for Anti-Slavery International has user experience at its heart and gives site administrators a broad range of simple-to-use tools to create compelling content. The charity is now able adapt quickly as its strategy evolves, without the need to keep coming back to us for changes – a testament to how well our partnership worked in creating a future-proof, scalable website that continues to meet Anti-Slavery International’s needs.

CARE International

CARE International

Using our expertise in charity website design, we created a single, responsive website, with clear user journey, accessible content and compelling calls to action. It features an improved structure, with layers of content suited to different devices, and an optimised donation funnel to encourage people to support the charity.

The new Drupal website design shouts about the organisation’s stories and shows what a difference is being made around the world. It follows a storytelling model, providing continuous relevant content to increase engagement. The new site is powerful and focused, leading users effectively to the areas of greatest interest and allowing them to read on and continue their journey from page to page.

Landing pages are now tied in with digital marketing campaigns, such that users are directed towards key content, all with online payment gateways to maximise fundraising. The new site was also designed to be stable and powerful enough to sustain the sudden surge in traffic and donations that Care experiences after major international disasters, as previously the website had crashed, resulting in a devastating loss of potential funds.
